Flying to Romania International flights to Romania touch down in Bucharest (airport), Timisoara, Târgu Mures, Arad, Iasi and, in the summer, Constanta. Tarom (Transporturile Aeriene Romane) is Romania's state airline, often expensive and, historically, hair-raising with regards to safety. Carpatair is an emerging low(er) cost carrier that flies from their hub in Timisoara to nine Romanian cities and a growing list of international destinations. Myair flies to Bucharest from a number of cities in Italy and Paris, but they are prone to changing flight schedules or flat out cancelling flights up until a couple days before you fly, then they inform you by email and when you reply saying that three extra days in Barcelona will screw your schedule and you'll have to sleep at the airport, they don't reply and no one answers the phone at their sole call center in Italy. In other words, fly them at your own risk. Sky Europe flies into Bucharest from Vienna. Wizz Air is dirt cheap, but invokes atrocious schedules, sometimes requiring a deviously calculated overnight layover in Budapest, yet they fly to Târgu Mures, Timisoara, Cluj and Bucharest from London, Rome, Milan, Budapest, Barcelona, Valencia, Dortmund and more. Blue Air is also dirt cheap, but they have a lot of rules. German Wings started a new filthy cheap route to Bucharest from Cologne, Germany. EasyJet has service from Milan, London (Gatwick) and Madrid to Bucharest. Ryan Air started and quickly stopped service to Arad in 2008, but is hanging on to the Romania market with service from Pisa to Constanta. Keep an eye out for new routes in 2008 from Air Berlin. Tarom, Carpatair and Air Moldova all fly between Romania and Moldova.
