Transdniestr by train

Train service to/from Transdniestr seems to have restarted after some calm settled with the political turmoil between TransD, Moldova and Ukraine. If your just going to Chisinau, your best (fastest) bet is still the bus/maxitaxi option.

It's not clear if they've resume all service as usual, but their old schedules were as follows:

From Tiraspol: Tickets for same-day departures are sold in the main train station ticket hall. There is also an information booth where questions about national train services cost $0.05 and questions about services to CIS countries costs $0.10 (apparently most tellers don’t bother charging these fees). Buy advance tickets (24 hours or more before departure) in the ticket office on the 2nd floor.

Most eastbound trains going from Chisinau to Ukraine and Russia stop in Tiraspol. Seven daily trains go to Chisinau ($0.90; 2 and 1\2 hours), three to Odesa ($2; 2 and 1\2 hours), two to Moscow ($31; 25 to 31 hours), two to Minsk ($23; 23 hours) and one to St Petersburg ($28; 35 hours).

From Bendery: There are roughly 15 daily trains to Chisinau, including ones coming from Moscow and Odesa.
