Transport between Romania and Moldova

From Romania to Moldova

Iasi
Maxitaxis to Chisinau leave from outside the Billa supermarket five times daily (six euros, about four hours), while up to six daily buses (much slower) to Chisinau (5.70 euros) depart from the bus station. If you don’t acquire a Moldovan visa in advance, have a completed visa application (PDF format) ready at the border or risk being left behind by an impatient bus driver.

Trains throughout the day go to Ungheni, a border town just 21km away. Do not take this train unless you already have a visa for Moldova, as there are no visa processing facilities at this crossing.

Suceava
Three buses a week go to Chisinau (8.60 euros).

Bucharest
Regular bus service leaves for Chisinau (11 euros, 12 hours) from Filaret bus station in Bucharest.

One train per day goes to Chisinau from Bucharest (overnight; 14 hours).
