Vadu lui Voda

Vadu lui Voda is a perennial Moldovan, budget getaway destination. Most people retire to the Zimbet Camping area (Tel. +373 (0) 692-005 70). Four bed cabins with shared bathroom are about US$11.50 per night. A double room with shared bathroom is US$31 and a hotel-like double room with a private bathroom is US$50. The cabins and double rooms are bare, but for the beds, and the shared bathhouse is reminiscent of summer camp, but you’ll be in good company with droves of likeminded Moldovans seeking out fresh air, sports, walking, river recreation and enthusiastic beer and wine drinking.

You can buy the on-site meal plan (three square meals in the bar/restaurant for $11.50 per day) or dine at several bars/restaurants by the beach. Bond with nature, kick around on the nearby football pitch, ride the river banana or just retreat to a shady tree with a book and a bottle of Moldovan wine.

Maxitaxis headed for Vadu lui Voda leave from Chisinau’s Central Bus Station regularly throughout the day.
