Weather Romania
It can get muggy in the summer (extreme elevation notwithstanding), but the Mediterranean this ain't. The average annual temperature here is 11°C in the south and on the coast, while you'll be lucky (and downright jubilant) to see 2°C in the mountains. Believe me when I say that Romanian winters can be extremely cold and foggy, with lots of snow from December to April. Snow removal organization is still nascent and it's entirely possible to be literally trapped in a city, even during a moderate storm, due to huge, crazy drifts on the countryside roads. In summer there's usually hot, sunny weather on the Black Sea coast and you'll even be wishing for some good old fashion fans (which are mysteriously absent) in the north. The majority of Romania's rain falls in the spring, with the mountains getting the most, the Danube Delta the least.

Moldova Moldova has a similar climate as much of Western Europe, though minus a few critical degrees Centigrade. That said, the warm season is admirably long, with glorious sun shine at least 50% of the time. The rub is that the overall average temperature during this time is a deceptively chilly 10°C (50°F). Below freezing temperatures in the winter are common, though, thankfully, not oppressively so.
